Alexx Antaeus

Alexx Antaeus is an award-winning composer/recording artist/producer with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Industry. He is a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the governing party for the GRAMMY awards. Antaeus has been involved in recording, remixing, or producing for a diverse selection of artists such as Young M.C., Falco, Lonnie Gordon, Malcolm McLaren, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, The Rolling Stones, The Boys, Herbert Gronemeyer, and Earth, Wind & Fire. For his work, he has earned several gold and platinum plaques.

Antaeus' personal albums include Byzantine Meditation, World Prayer, and zero4. Byzantine Meditation is a chill-out soundscape fusing voices, traditional instruments, electronica, hip-hop, and drum 'n' bass. The title track received significant airplay on Smooth Jazz and eclectic stations and was used in Jacob's Coffee TV commercials. For World Prayer, the Virgin Megastore magazine raved: "Few Greeks up to now have been able to make their presence felt in the international music world. One of them is Antaeus...Sources of inspiration this time are religions from around the world, always with the enchanting atmosphere that Antaeus creates..." In zero4, Antaeus blended urban and club beats with ethnic melodies and ambient sensitivity. "Palm of the Prophet," one of the album's tracks, was included in the Buddha Bar VIII compilation. In his review of zero4 Thomas Martin wrote: "Production is at its...best," and "I'll recommend Antaeus to anyone who owns Paul Simon's Graceland and Air's Virgin Suicide Soundtrack."

Antaeus splits his time between his recording studio in Manhattan, New York and OPA!, his restaurant in Kingston, Jamaica. He is working on a new album, scheduled for an early 2017 release. The first single, “Angel,” is an downtempo chill EDM track featuring dancehall star Tommy Lee Sparta and Steven Wilson, the tenor of twice Grammy-nominated vocal group New York Polyphony. The club remixes for Angel (scheduled for an October 7, 2016 release) were done by Dirty Disco, DJ Easy, Diztroy, Raphael Valentino and Alexx Antaeus, himself.
