Trio

Profile:

Original German Pop Music trio from 1980 to 1986 who were originally called Zam as a name suggested by their Record Label they had Mercury Records at the time in 1981 but later renamed themselves as Trio to be better known in Europe which they did. The band gained worldwide reputation for their unusual Single a song called 'Da Da Da' which was a huge hit in more than 30 countries shortly. The group was Stephan Remmler (vocals), Gert 'Kralle' Krawinkel (guitar) and Peter Behrens (drums). They released 3 Studio Albums and 1 LIVE Album (recorded on cassette only, later rereleased on CD).

They later regained some fame in 1997 due to 'Da Da Da' being featured in a Volkswagen Jetta original television commercial called 'Sunday Afternoon'. Mercury Records then rushed out an Original Compilation of tracks to meet the new-found interest in the group. An odd fact: Peter Behrens, who was recruited right out of Circus Clown School, played drums standing up until Trio or Zam went their separate ways disbanding in 1986.
