Chart Records (4)

Profile:

Chart Records was formed circa 1962 in Atlanta, Georgia by Slim Williamson. He formed the label primarily as a means to record some of the local talent and to lease the master recordings to one of the larger labels such as Chancellor, Decca, and Columbia.

In September 1967, RCA began the process of manufacturing and distributing all of the Chart Records product, with the exception of Chart's subsidiary label, Great Record Co. The records on that label continued to be distributed by various companies, including Sound of Nashville, Mid-South Plastics, Precision Record Pressing and others. Other labels, manufactured and distributed by Chart included Sugar Hill Records (3).

Also appears as "Chart" only.
