must collect them all- four words is six short to post. some stuff can be mediocre and forgettable, but tastes change with time- meaning sometimes you back and hear something that you never heard before. it's sad that in this age of easy copy and able music so much is still lost and inaccessible. Lot of good stuff yet to be discovered- get it when you can

Interesting label for mid-late 90's ambient-techno-trance-goa. Many releases are done by "obscure" Danish artists, but that actually makes it even more interesting, as it becomes a walk off the beaten path, and for those who like that classic 90's sounds, these are quality releases.

So this label somewhat similar as to what we in europe has like Arcade , Sub Terranean & Zyx since they all offered the similar quality in electronic music . From commercial eurodance to hardcore/gabber and techno , trance , goa/psychedelic trance . There was something for everyone to listen at .

Sadly like many of those big labels many of their compilations are the same over and over , some even dared to rip the same materials to make a cheesy compilation just to gain money easily without doing any efforts ( biggest examples many compilations of the "World of ..." from Zyx and 5th Gear "Gabberbox" )

Glad to see the love for Hypnotic! Many of the comments here echo my sentiments, exactly. I, too, this label from the 90s. I recently bought Dance Floor Chemist and LCD: Endorfun

Definitely brings back memories!

This label brings back many great memories. They had the exact sound I loved, if I picked up one of their compilations I knew it was time to pack a bowl, put on the headphones and enjoy their trip. Sad to see as someone else mentioned a shell of their former self.

It's hard to explain to a lot of people nowadays about what you had to go through to listen to music 20+ years ago. During the mid/late 90s "Electronica" boom, Hypnotic was pretty much one of the defacto answer to picking up "techno" (in the widest categorization possible) that wasn't your regular Prodigy/Moby/Paul Oakenfold/William Orbit era stuff from your local HMV/Virgin/Tower Records/Newbury Comics.

A good number of CDs, even when I was a teen listening to them on my little Sony, had a lot more misses than hits (and a lot of occasional overlaps), but it was always a pleasant surprise when you picked up something interesting and they usually had a good flow.

If you feel like digging around in the archives of Hypnotic, stick to the single CDs, rather than the multi disc compilations (with a specific exemption maybe to the Dance Floor Chemist, but that might be just pure nostalgia speaking), as the more CDs they threw at you, the ratio of listenable tracks goes exponentially down.

Regardless of maybe a few weaker cds, you gotta love Hypnotic.

Long before trance became much of a buzzword in America, these guys were bringing over tons of material from the German label Music Research (amongst other small labels) and making it easily available to us poor North Americans who didn't want to import. Not all of their releases were gold, of course, and many times they'd be padded out with a fair bit of filler as the years went on, seemingly scraping the bottom of the barrel sometimes. Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad, I s'pose.
