The Folk Dancer

Folk dancing magazine founded in 1941 by Michael Herman (2) (1911-1996) and his wife Mary Jane Herman, née Bodnar (1911-1992).

Published from 1941 as the official publication of the Community Folk Dance Center in New York City, the magazine ran its own record label, The Folk Dancer Record Service, starting in 1950.
