Edited 13 years agoIn 1987 Andrew Beer conceived; 'Funky Alternatives', in conjunction with Morgan Khan, and instead of being released on the 'Streetsounds' label was in fact the first ROD album release. Then soon after, fellow friend/sound technician, Andrew Burton became more involved, and took over ownership of the label so that Andrew could devote himself to building 'Warrior Records', helped by Tony Thorpe who also went on to form 'Language'. The last ROD release was Funky Alternatives 8 in 1995/6. There have been a succession of releases purporting to be retrospective Funky Alternatives compilations but these were never legally sanctioned.
Concrete Productions, were basically responsible for giving exposure, and promotion to many top underground artists whom primarily specialized in Electro/Synth-pop/Industrial styles.
