Edited 12 months agoSide XXX on my pressing (1st) sounds like its been mastered from tape (background hiss/surface noise). Maybe this is why they repressed it? Sounds good though and very different to what was around in '88.

Solid pressing, basically noise free. A couple ticks that will likely clean up. Sounds about as good as an 80s rap record will sonically. Super grateful people are reissuing this stuff. -

Get On Down is on the hype sticker and I gave this a chance as it was on sale but there is noise throughout the record. I can’t believe the rrp for this record is £30!!! -

Classic album... this is the golden era out the trunk

My pressing sounds absolutely fantastic. Zero surface noise, highs and lows sound good, and bass is plentiful. Very happy with this LP. As far as the album, this is a hip-hop classic. -
Bass is loud and there is no crackling or sibilance this is a great pressing.

Amazing sounding record. I thought it was a little lacking in the mid-low bass notes and after a small adjustment to my subwoofers crossover this record really thumps when I turn it up. The pressing itself is very clean and has no surface noise, pops or hisses. -

The bass is lacking big time compared to my cassette. Nonetheless I’ve gotten all the getondown short releases and have been happy to have them on wax. They sound good…not great…sounds compressed / hollow. I’ll buy it again thought! They should have it properly mastered in the future
