The Orb Tripping On Sunshine (Live Mix)
Discotec 2000* Feel This

Notes

Due to the way this album was packaged and the obscurity of the main artist, "Eternity" was long assumed by KLF & Orb fans & discographers to be the artist Brendan Charles Beal, and the album is a compilation he curated, featuring music by him and people he knew. The album title is just "Project One", as indicated on promo sheets distributed with some copies.

Sample trivia:
Tripping On Sunshine (Live Mix) by The Orb incorporates a vocal sample from "Accapella Sunshine" by Rockers Revenge featuring Donnie Calvin.

This compiler is the perfect to me in both ways, slow or pitched. Finally I like the pitched one better. It is so great to bring these songs in a britcore, hardcore or breaks mix. Mr. Loves Saxophon, Ashram oriental style....so many things to bring from this record in a mix....guitars and not to forget the sunshine accapella which was copied from Westbam. I bet he owns this record too

This is one of those lps of before they became famous types.
on this lp are of Killing joke (Martin Glover, Youth.) Alex Patterson of The Orb, Jimi Cauty of The Klf.
The lp was recorded mid 1988 but released early 1989. Yes it's very pop and cheesy at moments but I think the original aim of the lp was just that- an attempt at trying to have chart hits in the era of S-express, Marrs etc.
For me it's an interesting look into what came before The Orbs first lp, before The Klf - What time is love and before Youths excursions into trance-house music.

I'm going to go against the grain of what other reviewers here think. I dont particularly regard this compilation as anything special or even groundbreaking. Some of the tracks seem to be experimental for experimental's sake. Some tracks are quite cheesy and the chosen samples clash. The production, even for 1989 isn't all that sharp either. Very similar in style to the album Paul Hardcastle and Les Cutmore https://discogs.sitiodesbloquea.com/Various-The-Acid-Mixes-Vol-1/master/197822 released around the same time.

A couple of tracks do stand out for me though. Unfortunately they're exclusive to this album. One being The Orb's Tripping On Sunshine. As the title suggests it's as psychedelic as you're going to get on here and rather trippy aswell. The elements are panned across each other which adds to their effect. Those who have experienced tracers might be able to visualise what I'm trying to explain.

The other is Eternity's Sanctuary. This one is 'slightly' reminiscent to the Belgian New Beat/Hard Beat scene although very acid but certainly not as hard. I really do love the acid on here. Especially when the beat is removed approximately two thirds in whilst the reverb is turned up. Should've had more mixes available as an independent release.
