referencing Sunmachine (CD, Album) 3984-23378-2
Yes, I know, this is pretty cheesy. But I don't care at all, this cd means to much for me!
This is for sure a 'sunmachine', you can't find more sun in one single cd! Pure happiness!
I guess you all have heard the cute opener "Sunchyme" with the ultra-happy melody! Impossible to not like this tune!
Next track is the World Cup-anthem "Carnaval de Paris" with one of the most recognisable melodies ever done. As the track before - impossible to not like this!
Then we have a cover from an old David Bowie-song, called "Memory of free festival". Here the track is called "Sunmachine", and that's a pretty good explanation of what this song is! The flute solo and organ solo in the end are so damn catchy! It gives me goosebumps!
Next stop is a The Beach-soundtrack, the vocal chill-out tune "Voices". Cheesy as hell, yes, but very relaxing!
Now we come to the deeper side of Dario G. It gets a little more monotone and "trippy". But don't worry, the sunny touch is still there. Great dancefloor-music! Pure joy, all the way!
But the party has to stop some time. Track #9 is an acoustic version of "Voices", and as I mentioned in the original version this is a very relaxing tune.
Now to track #10, "The end of the beginning". What a tune this is! A ten minute long ambient journey with the most gorgeous melody you can imagine! And the way Dario G success to throw in some tracks of both "Sunchyme" and "Sunmachine" is just a work of art! This tune works best after listening to the whole album. Then the last minute of this tune really can bring tears to you eyes!
So my tip is: don't be afraid to give this cd a listen. I know that this cd has been a part of me since I was 10 years old, and that is a big reason that I love this cd. But I do still listen to it sometimes. Not to bring old memories back, but to think of happy times by the crystal clear water in the Carribean Sea or something like that. This cd is for sure a 'sunmachine'. =)
PS. Avoid Dario G's later works - horrible. But you should really check out Corderoy's trance-remix of Sunchyme. One of the best melodic trancers I've heard...=)
