Magnificent, timeless record! ✨ And you can twist and turn it however you want. This is the only release that will give you the full enjoyment of what could come close to an audiophile listening experience if you can obtain this extremely rare, 🇨🇦 Canada-only 12-inch version in at least near-mint condition.

Anything less is guaranteed to disappoint, as this particular record is very unforgivable, having been pressed on relatively light-weight vinyl and recorded relatively low. To be clear: That's not bad per se. Quite the opposite!

In particular Candido's grandiose "Thousand Finger Man" on the flip-side benefits enormously from an audibly higher resolution thanks to the maxi-single format with wider grooves. Only on this original Canadian 🇨🇦 pressing, the song got this wonderfully large soundstage by maintaining also a high level of complete tonality, as well as offering musical detail (instruments) without sounding ever compressed.

I guess that's what vinyl fanatics mean when they compare their favorite medium, vinyl, to CDs, for example 😉.

☝️However, this also proves its greatest weakness here: Every little fingerprint, hairpin scratch or slight friction on the record creates a clearly audible crackle in the background, which can be quite annoying, especially in the amazing, longer intro part of the song.

Looking at the sales history of this record, I can't imagine that all the people who bought a VG+ copy for a lot of money were ultimately happy with it.

So make sure the copy you want to buy is in top condition! Don't compromise, no matter how rare and how much you want a record 😊👍.

Clean, flat pressing. The dynamics aren't necessarily an improvement, as most of the retooling seems to concern the percussion. The kick drum is thick and resonant, and candido's drums also pop and are nicely round. The guitar, synth, and bass stay mostly flat. 1000FM sounds a bit more fleshy with clear vocals. Good stuff.

The original mix was indeed by David Rodriguez Jr., however this is the only release were I see the duration being 9'50" instead of 9'20", anyone has a clue why?

Disappointing quality - noisy pressing with little punch. Have nothing else to compare it to but sure the original album version is better sounding...

The Italy Bootleg somehow sounds better than this Remastered Official Reissue. For whatever reason.

This re-release sounds a bit flat EQ-wise to me. Has anyone else perceived that?
