Doesn't make any sense to link to exactly the same identical version with "Similar to German retail version Metallica & San Francisco Symphony - S&M2", does it?
Have they been merged in the meantime as one release? -
Edited 2 months agoUnfortunately I don't think the sound on this is very good. There's really weird points where the vocals sound almost like the Daleks from Doctor Who! My disc 3 was okay, but the rest suffered from that static bitty in and out. I wonder if further cleaning would solve this problem?
EDIT: A cleaning with just water has helped tremendously. I think I'm just going to need to plan in cleaning before every play as there's a tonne of static present in my area right now -

Is S&M 2 better than the first? I would argue they are equal or better yet, just…different. Where the first was new and fresh, the second is more cohesive with experience. It’s an amazing how good Metallica sounds all these years…I would argue Ulrich is a better drummer now than the first. The production/recording is top notch along with the sound of my pressing. Highly recommended! -

Magnifique album, le packaging est super, le livret de cette page avec des photos magnifiques, franchement il faut l’avoir dans sa collection -

Great packaging. Nice gatefolds and graphics and booklet quality is fantastic. But that's it. The sound quality is poor, very flat and can't hear the instruments well. There's no dynamics and it's as good as just watching the concert on YouTube. And reading the similar reviews and ratings on the other mediums like the CDs and box set, the fault seems to lie with the recording itself and not the vinyl pressing per se. In short, save your money and go watch the YouTube videos instead. -
Super silent vinyl, great tracklist but...
1999 sound so much better.
Simply the mastering was way better -

Sounds much better than the digital version. More detail and more dynamics. -

So I bought this for $12 on deepdiscounts and totally worth it, this album sounds awesome. I love metallica but the symphony stands out so much more on this compaired to the CD I own of this. Definitely pick it up if you like live music.

Just amazing sound, unbelievable mastering. Also super silent vinyl.
Presentation is just perfect. 10/10
