I don't really get all the positive on the production and pressing on this album. My opinion is that although Wardrunas music is great, it does not sound to me like they put any effort in their vinyl mastering. All their albums sound abit flat and not engaging at all. It's a shame really because their music really would shine if they did some more work in production and mastering.. -
Stunning album, this pressing is let down by some surface noise in quiet phases (after u/s cleaning) but that’s made up for by the awesome black and white splatter which looks amazing when it’s spinning.

A 100% polyester fleece cloth is vinyl's best friend.Wipe your lp after you play it and the cloth will collect the microdust and also some amount of stored static, if you do this after each play you end up with a static free lp, trust me on this and try this method you will be very happy. -

Nice pressing and production overall, a little bit of static but with proper cleaning it goes away.
Open soundstage with depth and great detail, i am very happy with this album, highly recommended. -
Edited 4 years agoSuperb album that seems more instrumentally dense than Wardruna's previous 4 albums. My red vinyl is not perfect, there is quite a bit of non-fill leading to surface noise, and almost unbelievable amounts of static that does not seem to be dissipating with time - disappointing.

I bought three of them : one I giftet away (no complains from the person in Iceland), one is still sealed, and the one I open sounds clear with no surface noice. Happy Camper.
-
I have the white vinyl LE and mine does have a couple scratchy clicks directly after the song while the needle is moving quickly to the center. It doesn't happen during the song though.
-
A beautiful release with masterful compositions and a worthy successor of the first 3 albums, but the absence of "Lyfjaberg" song on this album in general, is beyond me.

Anyone hearing a scratching sound noise on the last part of Skugge? Cleaned the LP and tried on two different tables. Not present in the digital copy. Worried it is a manufacturing defect. Already ed IndieMech about it and waiting for reply.
