referencing Reactivate (LP, Album) 86423-1
This is the only RKL album to feature former drummer and multi-instrumentalist Bomer Manzulo as lead vocalist...it was originally a project by a San Francisco band called called Slang, but Brett Gurewitz of Epitaph convinced the ex-RKL in the band to issue the material under the name RKL to sell more records. A tour of Europe began soon after, but monetary and personal disputes within the band lead to Bomer leaving and original singer Jason Sears flying out to resume frontman duties. The band then stopped playing this material almost immediately, and began performing older songs, and working on their follow up for Epitaph called Rags To Riches. Both Bomer and Jason died of drug related illnesses, and most of the remaining former Slang in RKL now perform as of Lagwagon, a Santa Barbara area based band that used to open up for RKL regularly, and has now sured them in record sales, concert draw and longevity. -
