Why are the first three “demo” tracks from CD2 listed at the artwork as ‘1984’?
How can tracks that appeared on an album released in 1982, have “demo’s” from 1984…if these are really from 1984 then these would not be demo’s but alternate tracks/recordings !!
Or do they mean that these tracks were first available/released in 1984 ? -
Much praise for this compilation! I had taped the 2 B-sides from the 'Colour of Spring' on a cassette, but having them in digital quality makes such a difference. As far as I'm concerned these 2 tracks are rare gems. I'm referring to 'It's Getting Late in the Evening' and 'For What It's Worth', two absolute masterpieces ... If only they had advanced in that direction, 'Spirit of Eden' would have outdone it's predecessor easily.

Disc 1 is a re-press of the earlier Talk Talk Remixed. Amazing how after parting company with the band (and not waiting for their inevitable success) the old label feast the dead carcass of the band...

Edited 8 years agoJust on a note: The complete moron that wrote the liner notes should be banned from writing anything about Talk Talk.
He/she claims that the "Life's What You Make It (Extended Version)" was omitted on purpose because it drives the listener crazy, and that the meager "Life's What You Make It (Extended Mix)" was chosen instead cause it's "superior".
No. You clearly were the very wrong person for this job. The extended mix adds nothing and is just something made for Americans A&Rs who don't get anything anyway (you?).
Life's What You Make It (Extended Version) is probably the best Talk Talk remix ever made by non Talk Talks ( >> Happiness Is Easy - Dub Mix). It augments and compliments the original album version in a way that extended/re-re-re-overhaul remixes rarely do. Never on CD, thanks to this i*iot. I can never forgive you.
