It's THAT GOOD.
It just is.
I do really like my 5.1 which has more bite to the guitar.
But that is true dsd 5.1 or Dvd-a 5.1 (i have both).
But as 2.0 it's solid, love it... -

Isn’t the main album a remixed version? According to the credits Guy Fletcher did it. Or is it a remastered version? I’m a little confused. -

WOW!! This is maybe the quietest vinyl I own! Excellent dynamics, the bass controlled. Very large stage.
This is probably the combination of using master tape with a very good mastering especially for vinyl. -

Never actually heard this LP before, obviously heard the chart tracks… but, impressed! And the quality of this Japanese pressing is outstanding! -
Sounds absolutely amazing. Anyone else have an echo on ride across the river 2022 dolby atmos at surround sound? Curious if it’s meant to have such a delay..
other than that stunning! -

Shaking my head and amazed, I recently discovered that the Half Speed Mastered Edition of Abbey Road, which many here rightly rate highly, is being torn to pieces by so-called experts because this Miles Showell cut is included in the current 40th Anniversary Edition. There, it's described as musty. For me, this pressing is absolutely world-class, and I deliberately listened to the original pressing again. The Mofi 45rpm can be described as "better," but that's only if you have the right system and the right room, as it's very opulent. Otherwise, this is the way to go. -
Edited 6 days agoI got this for the two stereo mixes as I don't do multi-channel playback. Both sound great as you would expect (I only have the 1996 Bob Ludwig SBM CD to use for reference).
But it's the new instrumental version of BIA that's the revelation here for me, not just because it's never been heard before, but because of the vocal layers peeled away shows up the incredible playing of everyone, both band and session guys, so very clearly now... The bass guitar on 'One World' for example absolutely jumps out at you... I thought it would be a bit of a difficult listen, a bit of a novelty, but credit to Guy Fletcher for creating such an interesting and coherent listening experience in itself - even folded down to 2.0 from Atmos it sounds wonderful too. -

Superb pressing! Vinyl is flat and quiet with absolutely no distortion. The treble and mid-range are detailed and transparent. The bass is deep and tight -- punches with authority. Of note, because the album is two records pressed on 45 rpm, the full version studio tracks are included as opposed the edited tracks on the 33 rpm single record. I remain very impressed with the Abbey Road Half-Speed Master vinyl pressings. They rank among the best pieces in my collection. Highly recommended! -
It's worth noting that the original CD mix on here is a different mastering than the one on the 3CD/streaming. The 3CD is significantly more compressed/less dynamic than how it appears here.
