Purchased sealed; there is sibilance and a few pops that are noticeable during transitions and low points. The bass is decent but you need to turn it up a bit. I don’t have any other context as to other pressings of this project, but the quality isn’t spectacular. All that being said, the music is amazing.
Using an AT-LP-120 and a red ortofon cartridge… -
Seems like all the editions of "Militia" part three have a lot of distortion on the snares and throughout Freddie Foxxx's verse. Prove me wrong.

Edited 3 years agoSo perhaps the final (at the time of writing) Gang Starr album is not the crown jewel in their incredible discography. But it still runs laps around most hip-hop albums released around the same time. The Owners is definitely top 5 from 2003. Guru and Premier still had awesome chemistry, go on and name a better duo, I’ll wait...
My fav tracks are “Put Up Or Shut Up”, “Rite Where U Stand”, “Who Got Gunz”, “PLAYTAWIN”, “Zonin’” and “Skills”. The short but dope “Werdz From The Ghetto Child” with Smiley on the mic also deserves a mention. -
