Deicide – Deicide

My copy has a misprint on the front cover: there's a darker frame that was rotated about 10 degrees compared to the cover edge, while the other graphics are not rotated, not sure if anyone else has observed it on their copy? Otherwise all the same identifiers as the original press and I believe it is authentic because it comes from a collection that I bought 10 years ago with original first presses.

My understanding that this may have been planned to be released on LP for the North American market, but was never released for reasons unknown (either the album was deemed to controversial at the time or the vinyl LP market was not economically viable). This is not the same as the 1990 European LP release, as it was a DMM (Direct Metal Mastering, which is cut directly to the copper disc) cut in-house at Sony/CBS Haarlem in the Netherlands by presumably Rinus Hooning.

Instead, this was a lacquer cut by the late Tom Coyne at The Hit Factory in New York City. Judging by the cut on the acetate discs in the images, the grooves were cut fairly close to the center label.

Heaps of reviews on the US R/C first pressing but none on the euro RoadRacer first press...as far as CDs go, great sound, better than digital and it's a brutal old school death metal classic.

This seriously hasn’t been reissued on vinyl in 7 years now? You can’t find a copy on here for under $100. What are we doing here Deicide? Reissue the record on a regular basis and rake in the money! Cmon! It’s a classic album. Why be so stingy with releases. You’re losing money

Just dug my copy of this out of the vault. It sounds amazing. Hasn't been touched in 10 years. If you can find a copy of this, it sounds fantastic. No surface noise, and the remaster is sick.
