The Beatles – The Beatles' Story

This pressing has a great sound, but what trips me out is the side distribution; LP 1 has Side 1/4 and LP 2 has Side 2/3, so not only would I have to change the record one, but two times! When side one finishes, I need to change the record, then flip the side and then stand up again to listen to side four. This is a really poor experience. Besides that, it's a good pressing.
I don't know if it's the same mastering like the original pressing, but one narrator on "John Lennon" is only on the left speaker, which I find lowkey funny.

This was produced for Capitol when the Beatles were just starting to get "Red Hot" in the US...The label did everything they could to help promote the band and this is one of their major VINYL efforts...Fans were clamoring for "ANYTHING' Beatles...The DJ's from KFWB Radio in LA put this together and it was a fantastic backgrounder look of the British invasion group...Wonderful audio memories here.

A great 1st pressing beatles album. Its more of the history than music as compare to other beatles album and compilation . Great sound mastering and presentation with that everclean vinyl and the included booklet . If im not wrong only the japan pressing is in box set . Get this rare album if you want to complete your beatles collection .

Capitol red label with the purple Capitol “C” logo (commonly known as the Capitol “Red Target” label variation).

In May 1971, Capitol updated their label design, going from a lime green to a new 'red' background but keeping the same purple-black Capitol "Target" logo.

In the USA, the “Revolver” and the “Yesterday…and Today” albums are the only confirmed Beatles releases with this “Red Target” label….apparently pressed only during the spring of 1971 (those two are now extremely rare). In Canada (only), the red target label was used for other Beatles releases as well, and lasted until early 1972 when Capitol switched to their new 'orange' label design (making the Canadian red target releases a little more common ...yet still quite rare).

Exact production numbers for the Canadian "red target" albums have never been officially documented, although most documented sources indicate very low figures.

I have one of these. It does not have the IAM triangle in any of the runouts. You can tell by the 1" pressing ring diameter that it's not pressed at Scranton. I believe this is a Decca contract pressing, probably Pinckneyville. The notes that state that this is a Scranton pressing are incorrect...at least in reference to the images provided.

My runout numbers match those listed above, but the labels are all apples, sides 1 and 3 have no rim text, and sides 2 and 4 carry the Capitol logo.

My copy has the same labels and MASTERED BY CAPITOL in the deadwax on all four sides.

My copy, strangely enough... Uses an American Jacket...so it's a Hybrid.

I've got a first Mexican pressing of this album which came in mid 70's. This album is just for Beatles collectors as it does not have songs, it is a documental album, but it has a great cover.
