Amazing soundtrack to an amazing film! The versions of the classic themes by Akira Ifukube are wonderful, while the new, ambient music by Naoki Sato is a key part of the film too. As much as I love the original Godzilla film, as well as the various others like Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster/Hedora, etc., Godzilla Minus One is a masterpiece, and the music is a big part of it. -
I have had a bad experience with WW release before so I decided to purchase this version instead. However, I do like this cover better than the WW release. Very minimalistic and looks exactly like the movie poster. If you have other Japanese record, you probably know that Japan usually produces high quality product from inside out. Besides a killer cover, the inside jacket pictures looks gorgeous as well. The jacket material is made of a high quality paper and it just looks high end overall. My copy also sounds amazing. There are occasional faint clicks that you can hear especially during the quiet score - which is many. But overall this is a very quiet pressing, which makes the listening a lot more enjoyable. Someone also mentioned that Rambling records don’t do re-issue so if it’s really only 500 pressing made worldwide, this record will be hard to find someday.

My copy sounds awful. I hope my replacement is better. This is NOT okay for any vinyl - and especially not when it's so expensive.
I really hope they fix it - this soundtrack deserves the best. -

Edited 11 months agoI hate giving this a 3/5, but there was some popping that just shouldn’t be a thing on a new record. Luckily for me it only occurred occasionally on side A and maybe once on side B. Once the popping subsides it sounds great.

Edited 11 months agoI ed on getting the Japan Rambling version to get this because of the gorgeous coloured vinyl. I should have known better. . The only success I have had with a Waxworks release is the Barbie score (for my wife of course...ahem).
Update: I was given a replacement by my supplier. There is a huge improvement over my previous copy, but it's still far from perfect. I will keep this one, but it sounds like the Rambling version walks all over this for sonic quality. -
Edited 11 months agoSadly my copy is basically unusable due to a very loud constant noise / hissing sound and a lot of clicks & pops. I have ed the seller and will update based on there response.

Very noisy on 2 sides, the groove noise is above the level of the music. It's unfortunate because I can't enjoy the awesome score. I asked for a replacement and was told this was "normal". I should have spent a little more on a Rambling pressing.
