Edited one year agoI don't have the 2021 repress to compare which one sounds better but honestly this sounds amazing
especially Pink Cigarette -

Sounds terrible. Pops, static everywhere, even on louder spots. Why is it going up in price? Don't bother with this pressing. -

why is the cassette of this going for so much? bonus/hidden tracks? -

Pressing I have pales in comparisson to the pressing a buddy had, for the simple reason that the record cut on mine is on the tail end of Ars Moriendi where his cuts at the end of Pink Cigarette, a beautiful spot to flip a record. I lived in a shitty apartment with him and he'd always spin it while I was taking a nap after work, I so vividly thinking the first time it came on his TT bit the dust somehow. -

I bought this pressing new when it was released and I have been disappointed by it ever since. I just purchased the MOV release and I'm hoping it blows away this shitty pressing of one of the greatest albums ever made.

While this doesn't sound as fine as the self-titled album as pressed by the same company, this is still damn good for how much music is on this one disc. Very clear sound, and is surely a dozen times better than the Plain Recordings pressing

Stunning edition, can confirm with the other reviews here, silent floor and great dynamic range. What an album. When I first heard this at the end of the 90s it opened a new door for me with regards to how richly imaginative music and lyrics could be, pulling the past into the future, all within a Californian sunset glow. A masterpiece.
