The Orb – Orbsessions Volume Two

Combination of 3 seemingly disparate phases of The Orb, which go together well in retrospect: BadOrb.com's dark space trip-hop styles, the previously unreleased Cydonia demo tracks' post-Orblivion jungle euphoria, and the beginnings of the Fehlmann/Paterson granular dub phase that they explored on Kompakt. The common thread is the 90s sample density and multiplicity, morphing between a variety of hooks in each groove, with a bit shorter and more song-like track lengths. When I got this it was just for the Cydonia demos, and there are one or two tracks that feel like filler, but on revisiting it I'm finding it's great as a little lost album fitting in after Orblivion.
