Ry Cooder could do no wrong at this point in his career, and considering the span of his career, he has a remarkably excellent body of work. "Paradise And Lunch" lopes along with a bluesy groove that is utterly compelling.
This Canadian🇨🇦 pressing is fantastic, quiet, no pops & clicks, and feels like we are hearing a bunch of lifelongers in a small club in New Mexico, one night only. 🇨🇦😎

A dazzling blend of folk, blues, country, solid groove soundscapes, swirling acoustic & slide guitars, mandolins, gospel-fuelled backing vocals with all the instruments perfectly placed on a bunch of love-gone-bad ditties sung in Ry’s dry everyman voice.
Fine 'n funky music to kick back to. -
There is a new music on vinyl reissue not listed. I think they just reissued the classic . As I recently picked up a copy. -
I thoroughly enjoyed Ry Cooder’s, Crossroads, movie soundtrack and his productions of Buena Vista Social Club albums but I byed many of his other albums until now. I just purchased 3 of his albums, Bop Till You Drop, Chicken Skin Music and this one. I’ve enjoyed side of this album and look forward to listening to the other albums.

Great album -
Edited 2 years agoIt's funny. Most of the albums I have of Ry Cooder are the work he did on Hawaiian music albums. It seems to be that every one of his albums is an exploration of a different music style. This is a good album. Basically - country blues. Loving the slide guitar on it.
There is also some lovely slack key on Mexican Divorce. -
