This 24-bit 192-kHz remaster (HDTracks), coming 42 years after its debut, sounds amazing. The clarity, dynamics, and mix are perfect. There's no ear daggers or boomy bass to contend with. Some of the bass lines are very powerful, but very tight and controlled. Excellent!

Not a great reissue to my ears. Vinyl is flat but so’s the sound.

Last track is 'Easy'...we all know it, but great though it is, it's the odd one out.
This album is some SERIOUS FONK. 👍😎👍

Nice chunky sound. All frequencies balanced. Warm and rounded. Doesn't need a remaster.
Leave it alone, Steven Wilson. 😆😆😆

            Album Revolution #2:

After the FANTASTIC "Hot On The Tracks" album, "The Commodores" was starting to be ADORED by EVERYONE!!!! The groups take on FUNK was gratifying, but at the same time, because of songs like, "This Is Your Life", "Sweet Love" and especially "Just To Be Close To You", the Songwriting of one "Lionel Richie" was REALLY starting to shine...

But, be that as it may (at the time), it didn't affect the group in a whole, which lead them to the 5th "Self Titled" release....Even though the group was gravitating to a more POP direction, they still managed to hold on to their FUNK roots...

The was very evident with the opener, "Squeeze The Fruit" (Written by "Walter Orange")....It was FUNK Personified!!!!!

The next two ts, "Funny Feelings" and "Heaven Knows" (both Written by "Lionel Richie" and "Thomas McClary"), shows just how good the group could sound....Both songs had, what was now the groups signature "Smooth FUNK"....It also continued the GREAT collaboration between "Lionel" and "Thomas"....

The first side ends with the somber, yet FANTASTIC "Zoom"....

When I first reviewed this album, I said that this song spoke for itself...Well, I was challenged and ONISHED to find out the story behind this MASTERFUL T!!!!! So, I investigated...Turns out, it was a Dedication to "Ronald LaPread's" Wife "Cathy"...Unfortunately she ended up with "Stomach Cancer" and had only months to live...UGGGG!!!! Now, this song takes on a WHOLE new meaning to me!!!!! "Lionel" really ED his Brother "Ronald" by finishing the track, so he could see his Wife before she ed!!!!! This as "Ronald" put it, was the most EMOTIONAL piece the group EVER Recorded!!!!!

I feel him totally on this one!!!! This was one of my Mother's FAVORITE ts!!!! She used to sing this so HARD!!!! I said that this song means so much different for me now, because of my Mom ing away with Cancer....I know it was because of a Heartbreaking situation, but "THANK YOU COMMODORES"!!!!!, for such a BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL SONG!!!!!!!

Sorry Guys, I lost it a little bit....

Getting back to business, the second side starts with "Won't You Come Dance With Me", another great Smooth Funk collaboration between "Lionel" and "Thomas".....

            Now, here comes "Brick House"!!!!!

This t right here was not only THE BOMB!!!!!, but it became the groups Anthem!!!!! "Walter" BELTS this MASTERFUL t straight OUT!!!!! Even though he has other GREAT leads, this would be the JAM that cemented him!!!!!! No matter where in the World you go, TV Shows, Commercials, and especially Movies plugged this MASTERFUL t!!!!! It also kept the FUNKSTERS of the World VERY VERY HAPPY as well!!!!!

The next two songs "Funky Situation" ("William King") and "Patch It Up" ("Milan Williams"), are equally first rate FUNK ts, which proved that the group still capable of UNCUT FUNK!!!!!

Now, last but certainly not least, comes that "LIonel Richie" song of the album "Easy"....

Honestly, THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS!!!!!! It is just straight up UNFAIR how MASTERFUL this BOMB is!!!!!!! "Lionel's" delivery of this song was also just UNFAIR!!!!! This Piano driven t goes to what I always say about '70's songs sounding just like they are titled!!!!!! What really took it over the TOP was the Guitar solo by "Thomas McClary"!!!!!!! This was just WAY TOO EASY for "Lionel" (Yes a Dad Joke).....It was the song that single handedly urshed "The Commodores" into the POP World....Right here, it did nothing, but down the road, things would change....

I wished the the LONG version of "Easy" (as well as "Brick House" and "Zoom") was on here....It sounds FANTASTIC!!!!! (Get on you Job "Universal Motown"!!!!! Make a 2LP Re-Release!!!!)

Well, this is IT!!!!! The group was THERE!!!! They were on TOP of the World!!!! Everyone now wanted a piece of the group, and it was not about to slow down!!!! Yes, this MASTERFUL, MASTERFUL album, single handled cemented the groups Legacy!!!!!!!!

Hi, do you like '70s dancing music? If so, just put this on your want list and buy it. It's some great funky pop by the kings of funky pop.
This pressing is great. Everything sounds amazing, no complaints at all.
