Bought this record used at my local shop in VG+ condition and it plays flawlessly. This pressing sounds quite good to my ears, and coming through my equipment.

Edited 7 months agoAll of the people saying this sounds muffled are probably playing this on less than great equipment. I have the original 2005 CD, the hi-res digital, and this pressing — the vinyl beats both the hi-res and the CD by a long shot. On my system, it sounds bright and crisp, detailed and nuanced, and when compared to the CD it’s like a veil of compression has been lifted. Don’t blow your money on the HT exclusive, just pick this up. If it sounds muffled, get better equipment.

Very very heavily muffled recording, I'll be looking for better pressing, I'm open to suggestions for better pressing

This actually sounds pretty good, it's more dynamic than a lot of new pressings of different albums i had, it doesn't have any pops or clicks and for the quantity of tracks on each side it doesn't have a lot of distortion.

I’m not upset about it, it was released and mastered during an era of over compression so I’m not expecting a hyper dynamic release here. That said, it sounds like what I expect, a digital release on vinyl. Packaging is good, the fold out is a good touch.

Clean, flat pressing. A little too much compression so it's not super dynamic. I got mine from Amazon for $18. Not a bad pressing but the sound is not very expansive ether. sounds close to the CD.

This pressing sounds great. A little noisy between tracks but not too bad. When I first started it I was a little let down but then I turned it up a little bit and that did the trick.

I just want to say that this version sounds like trash next to the 2012 release. I was hoping it would be the same pressing but on quieter black vinyl, alas it is not. RJ @ Sterling worked magic on the 2012 version- the 2017 version (apparently cut by persons unknown) is totally muffled sounding by comparison. On the plus side, the vinyl is definitely way more quiet than the gold press.

Just got my copy today. Definitely not a bad pressing, but nothing to write home about. Glad I picked it up either way!
