Just bought a mint copy and the groove noise on lead-in, between, and running into tracked is awful. The remastering is awesome, though, and I just wish that I could get rid of the noise. I've tried liquid cleaning - would ultrasonic help?
An outstanding version, though - I have several copies of Astral Weeks and this stands out. -
Edited 5 years agoThe Van Morrison Kevin Gray remasters are quality. Particularly this one pressed by RTI on 180g clear vinyl. Absolutely zero surface noise, intricate detail and tight, clean vocals. Sounds like a live-in-the-studio cut by Van the Man himself. The instruments are just that rich and defined creating a full, atmospheric sound. Beautiful music, beautiful pressing. I’ve rarely met a Kevin Gray cut I didn’t like.

Got lucky and found a copy today at a local shop. Sounds excellent and almost entirely dead quiet. Completely flat too. Very happy with this one.

My copy sounds amazing. Rhino has done a fantastic job with these colored releases, every one I own is fantastic.
