If this vinyl album would have been my first introduction to Dylan I would be a bigger fan. The music is upbeat the guitar tone is fantastic and the sound is vibrant. -
This album is brilliant. It’s true that the sound quality of the original recordings could be better, but the performances are just beyond the pale. I dare you to listen to You’re a Big Girl and not feel his pain. I like this version more than any other I’ve heard. Idiot Wind is idiot good. My god I love the Rolling Thunder era! -
One of Dylan's most beloved official albums. Maggie's farm blows the roof off and the list goes on. The catchy drums, guitars, bass, the singer's voice and even the pauses in the songs are masterful.

Edited 3 years agoYou can tell by the performances that The Rolling Thunder Revue was on it's last legs & running out of gas. Some of the re-interpretaions are weak (Maggie's Farm, Stuck Inside of Mobile...). Shelter From The Storm & Idiot Wind are excellent. Very likely sourced from the TV broadcast. -
Excellent pressing. Sure, it’s likely from a digital transfer, but this record is dead silent, flat, and dynamic. Poly sleeve is nice too (vinyl came clean and perfect).
This live album has Dylan in rare form playing loud, angry, and brimming with brilliant energy—really embracing a raw punk sound for these classic songs. It’s similar to The Rolling Thunder shows, but a bit dirtier. If you’re a fan of loud racing punk music with crunchy guitars and booming bass, this is a great into to Dylan. For Dylan fans in general, it’s a phenomenal record and a must-own overlooked live gem.
