Edited one year agoHiding behind an album cover of unassuming simplicity is a nice collection of lesser-known early Floyd singles and related pieces. The original compilation dates to 1970, but this competent German pressing on dead silent vinyl was released in 1973. Mono originals are processed into faux stereo which introduces slight distortion to several cuts. Syd Barrett sings lead on 7 tracks but receives no performance credit in the notes, only a label surname tag on the songs he wrote.

Just gave this pressing a good wet clean and it sounds really good. Clear and instruments have nice presence.
How the hell did they get the dsotm prism the wrong way on the back cover you may wonder.
Who cares.
I find the Barrett era Floyd infinitely more interesting anyways.
Great compilation. -
