Edited 3 months agoGood mastering, with well-extended (and slightly jacked up) bass and highs, and lots of detail and crunch.
BUT - Bad pressing, noisy all the way. Shame, as the contents are great, and issuing this on a double LP was definitely the way to go. -

What a remaster this is! It sounds fantastic, powerfull bass, clear voices, almost no surface noise, yet, the volume could be a little louder, but hell, that's where my speakers and amplifier did their awesome job and made me enjoy this record at it fullest!!!
And yes, the album should have been placed within a disc, but, it's a 2 LP Re-master, therefore I can cope with it... I found my copy On-Sale at a very reasonable price (considering prices nowadays). Highly recommended!

I didn’t enjoy this pressing - it sounds somewhat able through my floorstanding klipsch towers but through my studio monitors it just sounds flat and lifeless with bloated bass and harsh highs. -

on first listen the open high hats and crashes, sound tinny and harsh to me. The bass sounds full and present, and the soundstage appropriately wide. The record doesn't sound 'weak' or thin despite the runtime, though I do have to crank my gain to around +4db to get the meter touching 'yellow'
I'd be curious to hear how quiet the original pressing must be to fit those last two songs on one plate, if anyone has both pressings... -

Honestly thinking of getting rid of this and splurging on the original release. They fit the whole album on one record before, yet for some reason they laid it out so only the last two tracks are on a separate record?? I could have done without the bonus crap if it meant an even distribution of songs. Hell, even 4 tracks on each side of a double album would have been way easier. Also some songs kind of fade in and out in the “oomph” department. Weird.

Significant noise in the second disc, hopefully it will go away once I wash it, otherwise great album and good package.
