Pleasantly surprised here. Was playing my beat up 1st press (it was beat up when I grabbed it for $2 in the early nineties, and has failed to heal itself despite my pleading; the couple of minutes with no Rice Krispies sounds are great!) and decided that I needed a less headache-inducing alternative. I'm sure the VMP is great, but they're going for a fortune and I was already lucky enough to grab a Too Tough to Die here for a reasonable price, so I shrugged and grabbed this for $20. It sounds great, just like it should. Whatever the provenance, this sounds loud, proud and full. I haven't been a fan of the deluxe box sets of the first four albums because they frankly all sound awful. This, happily, does not.
Are there better sounding versions? Surely.
Does this do the job? Yep. Gabba gabba hey! -
I’m not sure this needed remastering. I have an OG pressing, and the 2005 reissue. Both sound better than this pressing. My main complaint is the cymbals sound terrible, like a hiss. Also the mids are too prevalent for my taste.
Although Locket Love sounds pretty awesome mainly because of the louder mids. Go figure!
Bottom line? This is such a great record, you can’t lose. Unless you can find a really clean decently priced OG, get this. You won’t be disappointed.

Never compared to an original, but this one sounds great. Extremely well balanced with all frequency ranges represented. Solid low end and articulate mids and highs with zero harshness.

just picked up an new one and yeah, it sounds awesome! very loud recording and that's how it should be! dead quiet between songs. Rhino kills it again with this pressing!
-
Fun record. Sounds great. Not sure if better than org pressings. Everyone should own this record. 4+ out of 5 sound. The Ramones will never be an audiophile band, but this sounds very good. I bought the 2022 edition of this record and this edition sounds better! Made to play very loud.
