Agree with the other commenters. This is a very nice pressing but it does sound like it could be a bootleg. Definitely good enough if you want to own this album. I hardly doubt I’ll ever have the opportunity to compare to an original, so in that regard I can recommend this record.

This was one of a handful of questionable "repressings' distributed via Scorpio distributors in N.J. circa mid 1990's to early 2000's. Some major collectors of rare soul & psych teamed up with, now deceased, Ray Miller to repress small quantities of elusive goodies. The mastering is generally excellent but they are repops nonetheless. All the titles have one piece ( not slicks ) covers and some interesting form of label variant to the original issues. Sources say the repops ceased after Bob Seger's management was not happy with the 'Noah' album being reprinted. So many cool pieces including James Brown / Maceo, Chocolate Watchband, tons of 'Mainstream' label repops, Morgen ( probe ), Milt Mathews inc, Velvet Underground (colored vinyls)....Most issued in colored vinyl AND 180 gram black vinyl. Interestingly, these were surfacing the market when many were collecting CD's and s. ** Record collecting was even more fun 20-40 years ago

Edited 14 years agoThe pressing quality of this version is great, i doubt that this is an official release since there is no reissue notes or label mentioned only the original notes and label(no longer exists afaik)
