Sick pressing. All the layers - instruments, vocals (harmonies are incredible here), fx and studio space - are given space to breathe and coexist. And it slaps like a mfer.

One of the most overated bands in rock history,I had a few of their albums(which I sold away don’t know why I even bought them). This band only had one! good song in their repertoire Once in a lifetime which is available on 7”.single.Why waste time on this totally useless band escapes me?

I like pulling records from my shelfs. My copy is a import from Portugal original release bought used in 1982. very clean and good quality sound.

Adding the outtake tracks would have elevated this album even more. Super wacky sounds on a super awesome album!

WOW ! finally have found a NM copy at a local record fair for 12 $ . Used to have european pressings before, and a Canada 1st later..
BUT: this one is just fantastic ! This is a brilliant album but a typically problematic record. Most copies get some things right but fail miserably in other areas. There are smeary copies that can’t deliver the punchy bottom you need, grainy copies that make the vocals painful to listen to, and plenty of copies that are just too dark or flat sounding for anyone to enjoy. Note that the first track on both sides will sound the worst. The sound gets better, though, as you get further into the album.
Richness, sweetness, BIG TIME presence, weight down low, punchy drum sound and so on. The sound has extraordinarily high-resolution, which lets you hear all the detail and texture of the crazy synths. I feel quite confident saying that you couldn’t find better sound for this album.

This is probably the best pressing of this album out there. I A/B'd this with the 1986 West German target cd, and this Lp definitely sounded a bit better. This one just had more bite. My mind immediately goes to the snare on "Crosseyed and Painless." There's a lot more definition on the lp than on cd, I definitely feel that there is more compression on the lp, but not all compression is bad, in this case it benefits the sound quality. Side 1 is overall sounds better than the cd, but I prefer side 2 on cd due to the fade in intro to "The Overload" not being covered in clicks and pops. But that's just me.

I've got this pressing since 1997, got it second-hand in great condition, I suppose an ultra sonic cleaning will make it even better.... as many have stated, the sound is gorgeous, one of the best-sounding records!!!

                  I've got:
                  Matrix / Runout (Runout, side A): SRK•1•6095-WW1#2 ━◁ STERLING
                  Matrix / Runout (Runout, side B): SRK•2•6095-WW1 #5 ━◁ STERLING
Should I assume it is this main pressing? All other US pressings from 1980 has nothing similar.

This is the pressing to get for sure! The pressing is fantastic, the sound from your speakers will blow you away! I don't care what system you have, it's just that good. As far as the music, this to me is their best album. This album is a masterpiece plain and simple, each song has their own sound to it, typical for the heads. Brian Eno formerly of Roxy Music co-wrote all songs with Ferry. "Once in a lifetime" is the number one hit on the album but seriously all the songs are number ones, it's that good. This is a go to in my collection, can't get enough.
