This reissue is really well done. Sound is full and rich. Records are flat and quiet. In fact, all of the Superior Viaduct reissues of Spacemen 3 (Taking Drugs, Recurring, Fucked Up Children, and Playing with Fire) are excellent.

Just received mine and, firstly, I was so surprised when I opened the package, because I thought it will be a regular tip-on sleeve, as nobody mentioned it was a gatefold before... And what a gatefold: sturdy as hell. Regarding the sound, I agree it preserves all the ambience sound and conversations during the concert, but that is not a major problem in my case.
The issue, at least in my copy, is that both discs (specially the first one) has visible marks and scuffs, probably due to an inappropriate manipulation in the manufactury plant, what leads to some disturbance and noise while playing those parts. I don't know if someone else has the same problem, but for me it was a pity as the rest of the recording sounds so good and faithful to what the original concert might had supposed. -

Edited 7 years agoJust curious but according to the constant public disagreement between Spacemen 3 and Space Age extended family / ex-manager of the band via post, tweet etc... on who owns the music here, and as it seems the disagreement is still on, the question of the legitimacy here would be interesting to be commented by Superior Viaduct and / or band as the record states "Licensed From – Space Age Recordings".
