Reviewing every record in my collection:
Not the best sounding pressing, but far from being the worst
So, before I'd relistened to this vinyl I had in mind that it was one of the worst sounding albums in my collection. Being pressed on singular vinyl, each side has about 30 minutes of music, which Is compressed af. But, now that I've taken the time to pay attention to it and with a better equipment, I can say it's a "Good enough" pressing. The first songs on each side sound better than the ones closer to the center of the vinyl by obvious reasons, but it still sounds better than other similar records on vinyl (For example, Madonna's Something to suffers of a similar problem and it sounds worse than this one)
I wish I owned the To Be With Records pressing, this album surely must sound fire on a remastered, double vinyl pressing, for the time being, this is a nice Place Holder -
Edited 11 months agoVery quiet vinyl, sound quality isn’t horrible but the distortion issues are there. Also pretty sharp “s” sounds all around. Overall not a bad release, would recommend if you can find it for a good price.

Edited 11 months agoWhich colour has this vinyl edition, pretty please? White? Black? I think white.

This pressing isn't absolutely terrible but you can definitely hear the sound quality decline after the first two songs on each side.. put yourself in my place sounds very rough and compressed sadly
-
I do not think this is as bad as described (sound wise) but i do agree there is something missing to it. I didn't notice any surface noise, pops or skips so that's already great! A beautiful record with one of my favorite tracks - "Confide In Me" which actually sounds much better here than in the latest compilation "Step Back In Time"
-
Not getting surface noise but there is a lack of dynamics. Where Has The Love Gone should be soaring. This does need a proper remaster (also I'd love to hear if there were any more Farley and Heller tracks recorded; they are the highlight of her career).
-
Not the best press of this album. Tons of surface noise almost to the point of being unlistenable. Audio quality is fairly poor - very compressed and digital sounding. Lots of sharp ‘s’ that have not been remastered well. Overall this is really only good for the sake of collecting and having the white version. Would not recommend.

Edited 4 years agoFirst thank you for this reissue. BUT, by making it on 2LP for sound quality with additional bonus or remix to make at least 3 tracks per side and keeping a good sound quality. Hope you'll make a new reissue that this album deserves 😊

how's the artwork and sound quality on this pressing? this one is cheap and readily available, whereas Be With's seemingly excellent one is a bit pricey
