Notes
Norwegian release september 1964. Red Parlophone label, later also a black label issue. Made in Norway on label. Rimtext: Ettergjøring, offentlig framføring, kringkasting m.v. av denne plate forbudt uten samtykke.
One more incredibly rare Norwegian issue released in September, 1964 of the 7” Beatles EP with two singles, “Love Me Do” and “P.S. I Love You”. “Love Me Do” was the debut Beatles’ hit composed by Lennon / McCartney. “Love Me Do” was recorded in three different versions, each of them with a different drummer, Ringo Starr, Andy White and Pete Best. Interestingly enough, the version included in the Beatles’ debut UK album Please, Please Me was the Andy White version whereas this extremely rare Norwegian EP includes the Ringo Starr version of “Love Me Do” whose original master tape has been lost along with the original mixed down copy with no back ups done. Original purple / white paper flap over picture sleeve of Norwegian design containing Dezo Hoffman's 1963 photo of the band wearing the grey Pierre Cardin suits and unique catalog number R 4949. The image contains the band member's autographs and "The Beatles Parlophone Records" text. The back cover contains the Norwegian "TOP 10" ("10 TOPPER") singles. Original red Parlophone "Made in Norway" labels with the Parlophone "₤" logo and catalog number R 4949. Both labels indicate Lennon - McCartney as the author of the songs, however, with the misprint reading "McArtney".
