Mine has clicks, pops, and noise throughout even after cleaning but it’s one of those rare instances where the sound quality is so high, and the music so beautifully vintage that the noise never really takes away from the pressing. I’d love it to be dead silent but I’m beyond grateful to have this.

not noise-free; but very good overall. dynamics are slightly better than the dutch reissue, and noise floor is dramatically quieter.

I was expecting this pressing to be mediocre, however was pleasantly surprised with it. It has great sound quality and is very quiet in regards to unwanted noise overall. A high quality pressing of this masterpiece.

Edited 2 years agoThis is a good sounding re-issue. It sounds better than their 1996 CD release, that was sourced from both stereo and mono recording sessions, and exhibited a fair amount of damage. This version of the soundtrack is the core thirty-four minute original stereo recording session done in London (further mono recordings for additional scenes had to be done in Vienna due to musicians strikes). The stereo recording is the best preserved. Undecided about whether this sounds better than the 1977 dutch Mercury pressing.
