fantastic. had the (german) stereo for years and now got the mono just for the fun of it, and i must say i tend to prefer it over the stereo. lead guitar and voices really up front, loud and clear.

The most vivid colours on disraeli gears you will see. Doesnt get any better with that lamination it stays so fresh. And sound is just awesome.

I have an American pressing on ATCO, with the purple and brown design, that is not in here. The letters are smaller and the words STEREO and ATCO RECORDS are printed in black, not white.

This pressing is pretty nuts. I have a banged up copy but I am holding onto it, despite having a nice reissue (the half-speed mastered one), because this pressing is just so damn powerful when you crank it up. I bet a mint one of these sounds insane.

Had three people ever picked up instruments in a studio and made such a strong record? This is easily THE heavy rock album of the sixties. One of my favourite albums of all time, the balance between all three musicians is perfect and almost every song could send me into a trance. As the record cover (surely one of the best of all time) suggests, the album's more psychedelic than their début. If psychedelic music is intended to imitate the effects of drugs then I suggest that the opening (and lyrics) of "Tales of Brave Ulysses" do this as well as any song ever! It's the most cohesive album that they made and out of all of their albums, stands the test of time the best.
