As everyone said here, this copy have amazing pressing, sounds really warm and dynamic. Really really good, and still affordable too.
-
This Pathé Marconi BN reissue is cut pretty loud and sounds warm and dynamic, If you are struggling to get an early pressing this could be the right one for you, without breaking the bank!
-
Wow, that’s an amazing pressing! I heard a lot of negative thoughts about the Pathé Marconi pressings, especially the DMM ones, but this one is perfect, it’s pre DMM and really sounds wonderful! I got a Mint copy still unsealed after 40 years which was amazing! Highly recommended affordable pressing since the older ones are too expensive and most of the new ones are crap.

Edited 3 years agoAgree that this mastering is somewhat 'bright' (not 'harsh' to the point of being fatiguing or even unpleasant), but this remains my go-to copy for now since the recent Blue Note Classic Vinyl issue is defective for most people commenting on that pressing (as is mine).
-
I also do like this version, not harsh; maybe just a little bit "bright", but in a good way ! The new Classic Vinyl Reissue (2021),
which i have bought just for comparison, is nice(polite), but not as catchy (more life) as this french one. Unless we have a Van Gelder one to compare.... -
I like this pressing very much. And it's one of the coolest jazz records ever recorded, if you ask me. Pure Legend
