If you need soul in your life, this is it. I bought a copy direct from Mississippi records for $29 with a bumped corner. I didn’t even notice the bump. 3 record set that will surprise the senses.

When it comes to these Cairo comps, I'm starting to realize that my favorite of the bunch is whichever one I'm listening to in a given moment. With that said, this one is pretty high up there on the list. Great pressing, beautiful book and a killer track listing. Clearly a labor of love. A+

Too many gems to mention on this one, but Rose Mitchell's version of "Baby Please Don't Go" is a standout.

Not for nothing—because the whole series is essential—but this one’s my favorite. Classic after classic.

Edited 4 years agoNow in stock at Honest Jons UK for £40 (01.08.20). The prices being asked by sellers for a record that is in print and can be bought from retailers for $33 stateside & £40 UK is an insight into what Discogs has become, IMHO. Some people pay a crazy price because they feel they’ve missed out - and then all sellers feel they have to match that price. A shame.

Edited 4 years agoThis just got repressed again, seeing it at shops in Portland. You could probably mail order it from Music Millenium.
Stunning soul collection with really well done liner notes I have returned to a few times. This series is a true labor of love and this might be my favorite so far. -
This record retailed for $33.00 The label does repress so maybe it will come around again for that price
