Pressing sounds great. Unique vibe, but is a banger of an album. The vocals stand out, but there is a cool little groove to many of these songs. A+

So much more detail and punch in comparison to the Polyslm release. Amazing separation.
Art, listening notes, nice colorway and a better package are the cherry on top.
I never thought I'd lay my hands on this release, since I lost the initial launch, so buying it finally on retail price blew my mind.
Only makes me wish VMP pressed more Brazilian music, classic AND contemporary.
The only downside was, to my bad luck, a persistent "tchic" noise repeated from the final section of B2 until it ends.

Agree with the comments here. Had a Polysom reissue that didn't sound great, especially on headphones. This issue is nice, sounds much better, nicely designed packaging and appreciate the notes. Jorge Ben is my favourite Brazilian artist

I've never experienced this before, but on multiple decks I'm getting very loud noise directly from the cartridge/tonearm. I can hear the rhythm section from 10 feet away unamplified. I'm familiar with the concept of "needle talk" or "needle chatter" but have never witnessed it as an outlier to a specific pressing. Any one else notice this or have general insight into why a specific album causes this kind of resonation?

Very happy with this purchase! I was skeptical of the yellow vinyl, but this record is dead quiet. Packaging is also top notch. I do agree that the mix could be a bit better, but it is still very enjoyable to listen to. Well worth the money in my opinion!
-
I cant compare this pressing to another pressing, but it sounds almost too bright. I rarely have to turn the treble down on a record but I've had to here. Other than that, sounds great and goes without saying, the packaging is excellent
-
Real nice piece of wax from VMP here. Remastered by Kevin Gray. No surface noise at all. Not AAA, but sounds as good as many of my AAA records. Great release and can be had for a decent price for a VMP record.

Edited 5 years agoThis is my favorite record from Vinyl Me Please as of right now. The pressing is clear and free of harsh noise also plays smooth! Get yourself a copy from them or any seller on here if you can, definitely worth it!

The vinyl is beautiful and sounds fantastic. The packaging quality is top notch with a thick tip on sleeve and large info booklet. More gems like this please VMP.
