Edited 4 months agoThis isn't tech house. I can see how someone with a modern dance music sensibility might pidgeonhole this album somewhere in the techno space, but it really has that techno / trance crossover vibe that comes straight from the mid 90s. Like other Liquid Earth EPs it has that naive melodic space synth magic to it that sounds like it came straight from a Eye Q record, early Etnica, or early R&S releases. Much as I enjoy the breaks-electro of Rhythm Remote, it's probably Momentium's "System Shock" pads and synth blips that stands out the most for me. I wish it had stronger hooks, but the 90s vibe is worthwhile.

Finally a repress on the cards. Thank god for that. Not that I can't say the first track isn't worth the prices alone

Edited 3 years agoit's alright. Still very much roman abramovich Chelsea Football Club only found a notable history in the past 15 years.

Definitely one of the best records of last year. It ed me by first time around then really grew on me after a few listens and now it's an essential piece of vinyl. Tones A&R and Taylor production = killer comboe.

Tech house is a dirty genre these days, but how you can't embrace the serotonin inducing pads on Momentium is unfathomable. Excellent release.
