Purple vinyl with art print. Possibly my favourite Goldfrapp album and a good pressing. You won’t be disappointed. I’m indifferent to colour vinyls, but if you like them I’d say this is a very nice, solid purple that works well with the album artwork. Sleeve etc nice. Less bass than I expected (Strict Machine especially) but that turns out not to be a bad thing as the presence and separation is better for it according to my ear. There’s reasonable width in the soundstage, but it’s not going to blow you away. Lower volume listening is good, and obviously it’s fun to crank up the volume too. Some surface noise after a liquid clean on mine but nothing that would put you off buying it. Recommended.

Edited 2 years agoI haven’t had much luck with this release. I’ve returned a number of copies as they all seem to have issues with Crystalline green. Jumps and skips straight away. So disappointing. I have another on the way, fingers crossed this is the one. It’s not my player, the other Goldfrapp coloured vinyls sound amazing
-
Two different copies with the same issue: persistent clicks and pops at the beginning of “deep honey” and the beginning of b side.
-
Incredible sound, fantastic packaging. Unfortunately badly warped, back it goes for an exchange. This is great
-
Same as the green vinyl 'Supernature' reissue and their recent 'Pole 1-3' coloured LP's, this is another flawless pressing from Mute.
Flat, centred and dead silent wax with crisp treble, wide dynamics and deep bass. The purple vinyl and art print is just the (black) cherry on top. This is the bees knees, people! -
Ugh. As an artist, it pisses me off how good this sounds.
And the purple color is definitely the way to go for this album. -
Agree with everyone else that this sounds amazing. Record is not totally flat but it doesn’t impact sound quality. Really digging Mute’s Goldfrapp rereleases. Supernature sounds fantastic also.
-
Superb pressing, nice sound without the heavy sub bass that is present on the CD. I think this would need to be a double to achieve that level of bass.
-
Great album and pressing. Superb mastering. My copy suffers from some surface noise, so maybe I need to try and source another copy.
-
I can't even believe the quality of this pressing. Packaging is top quality as well. I could listen to this all day long.
