Edited 6 years agoThis record captures Sunn O))) live better than any I've heard in their discography. For a band that loves recording their live shows (there are literally a good hundred or so officially released live recordings out there) this one, Domkirke stands high above any of them. The opening track is truly mesmerizing, pure catharsis. Attila's vocal performance in this recording is the best of his musical career in my opinion, my personal favorite track on the record. The rest is what you'd expect, high gain droning guitar/bass riffs for the remainder of the record, but what separates it from other live recordings is that you can hear, in great detail, the acoustical characteristics of the Domkirke cathedral that this performance was recorded in. The end result is spectacular. I cannot recommend this record enough.
