sound isn't the greatest but is ok, boomy and bassy but stereo effects aren't as clear unless you listen it with headphones, i don't know if its the compression but nothing stands out really.

Which one of the 1999 LP's is the first press? The black labeled Aftermath/Interscope w. insert; or the coloured labeled Interscope w. innersleeve?

Edited 9 years agoMy favorite in all of Eminem's releases. Very nostalgic album and very unique flow.
This is the epitome of Horrorcore. If you are a Horrorcore rapper this should be your bible. Take note, because this is how it needs to be done. Clean production from the Bass Brothers, Mr. Porter, and Dr. Dre, with very unique Horror based producing on some songs and classic bass heavy Dre style production mixed into a dark and devilish urban Detroit flavor. With hilariously psychotic punchlines done by Eminem's funny yet evil alter-ego 'Slim Shady'. Before the hockey mask and chainsaw he was the "Mummy at night frightened with bright lightnin, fightin with 5 little white Vicodin pills bitin him". Horrorcore in its purest form.
Rating: 10 out of 10. -
(Quick Review #23)
Listen: #5
I haven't listened to this album in a while, and I've always had it as my lowest Eminem album of the trilogy (I just listened to Encore which is the only album outside of the original trilogy I've listened too). While after this listen that doesn't change, MMLP and Eminem Show are better, I just enjoyed it a lot more than I ed. Everything here is good, honestly nothing stuck out as bad to me. I ed the production being shit besides on the singles (all of those were produced by Dre), but on return nothing here was that bad. Sure it wasn't great but it wasn't terrible. I sound like I just thought it was mediocre, but Slim LP is still truely a classic, and it was an extremely important album for rap and music in general.
