In my opinion the definitive version of the album. The album itself is great sound quality, and the bonus material is great especially the non-LP singles. Highly recommend. The Sundazed red/blue vinyl edition is beautiful and sounds great!

Edited 13 days agoSound quality is fine, credits go to Sundazed, they did it right. But Sundazed's inclusion of bonus material in form of an added lp and making it a sort of a compilation is the problem that distracts from keeping it in a collection.
First of all, the bonus tracks (with exception of "Dr. Of Philosophy" which is marvelous - rightly so, it was recorded together with original album tracks) are mediocre and even plain stupid - boring cover of "I Put A Spell On You" and utterly moronic "Bury Me In A Marijuana Field" really have to go! Their early pre psych 45's tracks are pretty uninspired and rather lame - without any significance to someone who loves "Trip Thru Hell". Different outtakes of regular album tracks are great for sure, yet they don't bring any further substance to the whole. Three before unissued demos: "I Shot The King", "Fortune Teller's Lie" and "Sadie Lavone" are the highlights among additional tracks to this release - however, these are not able to match the legendary "Trip Thru Hell" album.
Back cover picture of the band looks fake, while inside gatefold pictures and overlong interview with band leader Ken Erwin gives an odd impression that C. A. Quintet were in fact the bunch of straight youth accidentaly involved in making of such an psych wonder as "Trip Thru Hell" really is. All magical, mystical, freakish aura "Trip Thru Hell" once possesed is taken away by releasing it in this form. Sundazed tried to repair the damage by releasing it again in it's original form, but they failed one more time (noisy transparent "gold vinyl" !!?? No, thanks).
Still waiting for an nice, decent reissue, identical to original and with "Dr. Of Philosophy" 45 also in it's original form as a bonus. -
