Music sounds great, disc is fairly noisy tho, a couple scratches even tho it’s brand new. Not unlistenable, I still v much enjoy my copy, just something to keep in mind

By far my favourite Mariah album (Butterfly and Music Box are not far behind, and I also like Me I Am Mariah). This LP is not very loud but it sounds good. I have two major gripes.
I have the original European LP from 1995, which sounds warmer and slightly louder, and I much prefer that edition for the sound, though this reissue is perfectly good for those that missed out on that release.
My other complaint is the quality of the artwork. What a fail. The sepia tone of the original was not reproduced. Instead the images are pure black and white and Mariah’s face looks too bright with her lips being way darker and the details under her eyes are almost non-existent. The dark is too dark and the light is too light. It looks wrong. The original sleeve displays way better. It is a shame they didn’t make more effort with the reissue. -
Great album, but I recommend not getting it from Amazon, it was poorly packaged, which resulted in bent corners and a warped disc, it also had quite a bit of “debris” on the disc, so I had to clean it quite a bit. But after everything was clean it played just fine. I think this pressing has better sound quality than the VMP version, and it also has a inner sleeve, but obviously it’s not colored, which I think is fine. But from my experience with both versions, get them off of Discogs, not Amazon.

Edited 3 years agoMP3 is not numbered but alphabetical. My copy has slight surface noise audible between tracks on both sides, VMP pressing is better in that regard, silent between tracks. The sound otherwise is comparable between the two versions.

This is such a great pressing! You can definitely notice the remastered quality to the sound. There is silence between tracks and there was no static or popping. I think the vinyl is 180 grams (if not it is very close). The inner sleeve is black with a black and white image of Mariah. I think the sleeve isn't on the strongest paper. The cover seems slightly darker (with more contrast) than the CD. The bass is fantastic and the volume is loud. I'm glad for this Mariah releases. Very nostalgic.

I bought an EU version. Made in Czech.
It sounds very nice.
If you remove statics, you can hear almost no noise.
There are some hairline scratches due to the paper inner sleeve. -
I was wondering if this version sounds the same as the Vinyl Me Please gold version. I just did a listen of Fantasy on the VMP and 2020 releases and they sound the same to my ear. Anyone who has both find a difference between both versions?

Will this have an insert and be different from the Vinyl Me Please release? The sticker indicates a new remaster. This one will not have a new color variant like all the other releases?
