Radiohead – The Bends

Decent pressing. No notable noise on my copy. Maybe it lacks a bit of dynamics but overall value for money.

Sounds very good - tight, detailed and punchy. No complaints.
Silent surface on my copy. A great enough release for me.

Not really blown away by this, sounds a bit closed and slightly distorted at some points, full of pops and clicks, that after verious cleans still haven't come off. I bought my copy already opened, maybe that's the problem. Not really impressed, I should probably get a replacement of it.

comprato a 18 euro su Amazon, immaginavo di ricevere l'economica ristampa del 2022 fatta da GZ Media e invece ho ottenuto questa: la spledida incisione fatta dalla Optimal nel 2020! che dire, fenomenale: zero distorsioni e nessun scricchiolio se non in alcune parti più tranquille o all'inizio di Planet Telex... ma nulla che dà fastidio all'ascolto, questa stampa è quella da comprare, la resa audio fa saltare in aria casa, le chitarre esplodono e creano un effetto tridimensionale che non avevo mai sentito in digitale.
Sembra di avere la band dentro la stanza.

"The Bends" dei Radiohead è un album a cui sono personalmente molto affezionato e dopo molti ascolti l'ho ufficialmente incoronato il mio album preferito della band.

Very good press, pretty minimal packaging but the sound makes up for it 100%.

Lucked out and got this pressing off the shelf at a store rather than the later 2022 pressing by GZ Media. My copy sounds fantastic just after a quick clean with an antistatic brush. No pops/clicks, no distortion, and no sibilances (which is always the giveaway of a bad pressing for me). My copy has the Variant 5 runout text, but with some added etched text - a sideways 1= on side A and a sideways 1 | on side B.

I don't know quite what to say since there are so many positive reviews on this one. I guess I'll just have to say MY COPY, which is virtually free of pops and has no crackle - is pretty rubbish. Distortion is everywhere, and some tracks (such as the two openers) are truly horrible. My CD is better than this by some measure.

Mine has some hairlines out of the wrap and needed a clean. Some pretty major pops during fake plastic trees, but otherwise OK.

Glad I did not pay a lot for this. Great album in real need IMO of a vinyl version that does it justice.

My copy sounds amazing. Highly recommended this pressing. Haven't even cleaned it yet so can't wait to see how good the sound gets.

This is the first record i ever owned! Considering how popular the album is, I cant say that it is underrated, but many Radiohead fans are a bit too harsh when it comes to this album.
