Just clean the records and noticing Side 3 has been pressed with a Heaven & Hell label. Didn’t played yet, I will update some sounds consideration later.
-
I returned my first copy because it had groove damage on side 2 - you could see it visibly. Sections were super distorted when played. Amazon sent me a second copy and the same thing was present. Side 2, starting with the second song. Amazon would not send me a third copy so I just got refunded instead. Shame. It was really sounding nice.

Nice package .... but unfortunately has too much surface noise. Sign of southern cross and E5150 are unlistenable. I'll stick with my warner cd.

Love it, remastering is well done, well pressed, nice presence, clear and punchy, balanced soundstage, the extra takes and the mob rules remix on sides 3-4 are awesome ! moneys worth package. take the plunge, buy it ! Clean it , rinse it, slap it on your TT and rock it loud and sensless !

Package is excellent. The pressing is really good, not excellent in my humble opinion. I've seen better and worse. Sound good overall. Good album.

Originally, I didn't like this one as much as Heaven & Hell, but I have a new appreciation for it. I don't have an original to compare, but it sounds great to my old ears. I agree with some other reviews that the bass is lacking a bit, but it's not bad. The bonus tracks are decent --I always preferred the Heavy Metal soundtrack version of "Mob Rules," and it's included here! Live tracks are good, but not essential
(RIP RJ Dio 🤟)

Edited one year agoI bought 2. Not by choice. First was a cowboy hat warp. Second also warped just not as bad. My original copy sounds better. There is definitely less dynamics and bass heft on this reissue. Its not a bad mastering but its not an improvement. Basically it sounds "digital" compared to original. There is some clarity, which is a plus but again, its not as analog and organic/dynamic.

Great sounding pressing. I hate when people use the “must crank volume” thing as a negative critique for a pressing. “Volume needs to be turned up”. Lol so what! Volume knob is there for a reason.
If it sounds good who cares where your volume knob is. -
I’ll echo all the others in saying that this thing sounds really phenomenal. Everything’s pretty perfect from separation to dynamics to bass, seems no expense was spared to get the best sound out of this classic metal masterpiece as possible. Some of the finest music production in the history of all metal can be heard on Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules, and this press does it every bit of justice it deserves. RIP Martin Birch.
