    On August 14th 1958 the Kingsmen performed "Week End" on Dick Clark's American Bandstand & Eleven days later on August 25th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100/. Eventually it peaked at #35 and spent 3 weeks on the Top 100. This Kingsmen group name is Not to be confused with the Kingsmen of "Louie, Louie" fame as this group was actually Billy Haley's Comets recording solo without him. Francis "Franny" Beecher was the group's lead guitarist.
