I think this sounds great. Best stereo mix I’ve heard. I have an original UK mono, which is my favorite, but this is a solid #2 for me.

My copy was sounding better than the Nimbus pressing or at least that was the consensus when I did a shootout with my friend's Nimbus vinyl. Top class turntable and equipment used for the shootout. Other copies I have are the 2014 mono, early UK stereo & 2017 reissue. But this mofi comes up tops. My friend never heard a sgt peppers mofi version that sounded as good as my copy. He said this could be a 'hot stamper' mofi record. Great vocals, lively sound, good bass and remarkable listening experience. Nimbus came out second best but still I wouldn't put down the nimbus and still a great record. I have not heard the UHQR mofi so this mofi is my go to copy.
'I don't really want to stop the show, but I thought you might like to know' ....... Enjoy!!!!!

Found a copy of this today in a record store. Looks like it was never played before. This album sounds amazing!

They say this is close to the original UK LP but to be honest it is a bit boring; if I had to go to a desert island I would bring my Orange Capitol LP pressed at the Pinckneyville MCA plant if the choice was between that one and this one by Mr. Hunt. And the GIles mix on vinyl blows this one out of the water as enjoyment goes.
Anyone compare this to the Stan Ricker version from the MFSL box set? -
I bought a sealed copy of this years ago, immediately recorded it to cassette, to save wear and tear on the vinyl. It never did live up to the hype, though. Supposedly, with MFSL pressings, you might hear a few clicks and pops the first few plays - sad to say, this never goes away. Pulled it out again a couple nights ago, and was shocked when the needle got stuck near the end of "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds". I took good care of this album, take care of my stylus, this should not have happened with a supposedly high quality pressing.

Edited 4 years ago“MFSL’s” 3rd attempt at “...Pepper”, but this time with more complete artwork (although there is no “Fool’s” flamed inner or cutout sheet), a runout lock-groove with “gibberish” (but no dog-whistle, I think, but I’m not a dog so I can’t be sure 🤔), and a new mastering/cutting engineer to top it off (Jack Hunt cut this version), inching it closer to better replicate the original U.K. release. Regardless, it was (and still is) a bit of a failed attempt ultimately. The mastering, although more “controlled” sounding than the original U.K. 1st Stereo press, has a sort of insular/lifelessness to it when compared. It’s missing the “colours” and depth of the original, leaving the “UHQR” the best of the “MFSL” offerings.
