      People always mention the Lou Reed sample but not the huge section lifted from "What a Waste" by Ian Dury & The Blockheads.

        Check your matrix/runout etchings. There's a widespread high quality bootleg of this floating around. About half of the listings on Ebay I see are fake. See: https://discogs.sitiodesbloquea.com/A-Tribe-Called-Quest-Can-I-Kick-It/release/2406667

          The "Phase 5" mix is fantastic: loose and jazzy, with a very funky beat peppered with stutter-steps. It basically throws the original basis of the track out the door, ditching the "Walk On The Wild Side" thing entirely, but replacing it with a nocturnal, effervescent 1970s backbone. It feels more like a really great alternate version than a remix.
